Hey there,

In our last announcement, we introduced Sheets to all D3M users. Early access teams have been using Sheets over the past year, and these monthly updates have followed its improvements along the way. This month brings more for Sheets, along with a fresh look for Documents and improvements to Task Lists and diagrams.

New to Sheets?

Here's a quick recap for those new to Sheets. Sheets is a new way to view the devices and connections in a project. Each sheet is a table you can filter by Type, Area or Tag, with the columns you choose, and it updates on its own as you work on your diagrams. You'll find Sheets in the top project navigation with a "NEW" badge.

Resource tagging

Sheets is built on tagging resources, another new feature to D3M. Add a tag like "Customer Supplied" or "New Install" to any device or connection from its editor panel, then filter a sheet by that tag to list only those items. Tags mean whatever your project needs them to be.

If you have used Inventory in the past, note that Inventory is now a legacy feature. Sheets is the recommended way to manage project data going forward. For more details on this, please read our previous announcement, Introducing Sheets and Tags.

Features added this month

Narrower Sheet type filters

The Sheet Type filter can now expand to show every kind of device, wired connection and wireless connection in the project. Check only specific routers, or just one cable type, and the sheet narrows to just those items.

Pin your most-used sheets

Pin a sheet to keep it at the top of the list, so the ones your team opens every day are always first. Pins are shared, so everyone on the project sees the same order.

Select Similar on diagrams

Right-click an icon or link and choose "Select Similar" to select every matching item in the diagram. It works in Topology, Site Plan and Rack diagrams, and makes it quick to edit a whole group at once whether that's tagging or re-styling links.

Updated look for Documents

The Documents page and Document Templates (under Admin Settings) got a cleaner new design. You can now search both lists and duplicate any document or template in one click.

Choose the order of task list templates

When you add several templates at once, the order you check them in is the order their tasks are added to the end of your task list. A number on each checkbox shows where each template will go.

We remain committed to making D3M faster, simpler, and more powerful to support the work you do every day, and your feedback continues to guide our priorities.
